A new ferry is in operation at the river crossing between the Passage and Topsham Lock cottage. Running every day except Tuesdays from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. the new boat “Shimmer” was donated by Sus trans ( www.sustrans.org.uk) the charity responsible for the Extrail cycle network (www.exetrail.co.uk).
Shimmer can carry up to 12 passengers an 8 bicycles. Mike Stevens the ferryman also operates an evening service in his boat “Regnum” which was formerly the Chichester harbour masters craft.
