Getting to us is all part of the fun, making Turf a true destination pub.
You cannot drive to us. Walking, cycling or arriving by boat to our pontoon are the options.
Overlooking the Exe Estuary and situated in an area of outstanding and protected natural beauty at the end of the historic Exeter Canal.

BY CAR
WE DO NOT HAVE AVAILABLE PARKING BUT BELOW ARE OUR NEAREST CAR PARKS
The nearest car park is 2/3 mile from The Turf, where there is limited parking available. Exeter City Council operate a clamping policy in this carpark! Please ensure that you are parked in one of the 19 designated parking bays.

the Swans Nest

Both car parks are free of charge and are accessed from the A379 Dawlish road.
Another car park is also found at Powderham Church (Donations for the upkeep of the churchyard gratefully received). From here a footpath winds it's way alongside the Exe Estuary, enabling you to take in the fabulous views.

There is another car park approx. 3 miles from us located just by the Countess weir swing-bridge.
BY BIKE
Freetrike gives people of all ages freedom to challenge their disability through cycling.
This Sprint 2021 our outreach service has reached 19,000 miles with clients pedalling who might otherwise be housebound.
We meet clients at sites across Devon and deliver 2 hours of 1 to 1 rides on the best available adapted trikes, bikes and tandems. Freetrike also offers an equipment sales service.

There is another ferry in operation which runs across the river Exe, between the landing in Ferry Road, Topsham, and the western bank of the river by Topsham Lock Cottage.

EXEWAKE are a Devon based water sports school
specialising in wakeboarding, water-skiing and inflatable rides.
They are lucky enough to be located on the River Exe Estuary near Exmouth enabling them to operate in calm waters surrounded by stunning scenery.
